Cedar opens with OT heart-breaker

The Cedar Catholic Trojans and the Aquinas Monarchs used every inch of  David  City’s Memorial Field in Friday night’s rain-soaked game— every inch except the endzone, that is.

For four complete quarters, both teams’ grind-it-out offenses ate up the clock on several long drives, only to have the other teams’ defensive unit halt each and every drive just short of the endzone.

Friday’s season opener was hyped up by statewide sports writers as a true match of titans. The game didn’t dissapoint, either as every scoring attempt by each team was thwarted.
