Father Keiter is returning to Cedar County

A Hartington native will be coming home soon to guide some area churches.

Father Jim Keiter, son of Jake and Darlene Keiter, Hartington, will take over as pastor at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Fordyce, and St. Boniface Catholic Church, Menominee.

St. John parishoners will get a chance to say goodbye to longtime priest Fr. David Fulton Oct. 6 at an Open House.

He will be moving to St. Michael’s parish, South Sioux City, to take over that parish.

Father Fulton has been in Fordyce for the past six and-a-half years and was very instrumental in leading the local Catholic elementary school.

Fr. Keiter, who grew up in rural Hartington and graduated from Cedar Catholic High School, is happy to be heading back to his old stomping grounds.
