Wynot aerial attack does in Wildcats

WYNOT – The Wynot Blue Devils jumped out to a big 36-0 halftime lead and then cruised to a 50-8 win over the Hartington Wildcats Friday.

The Blue Devils rode the passing arm of their senior quarterback Jackson Sudbeck who connected on 20 of 29 attempts for 265 yards and four touchdowns. Brady Stratman and Jackson Sudbeck also each added short scoring runs to contribute to Wynot totals. Jordan DeBlauw also had a late touchdown catch to complete the scoring. Griffon Kalin had a short touchdown run to account for the Wildcats’ lone score.

Wynot would score the first four times they had the ball on offense and outgained the Wildcats 451-118 in total yardage. Kyle Boeckman led the Blue Devils defense with 12 tackles and also had a fumble recovery.

The Blue Devils’ passing attack would be clicking early in this one. Jackson Sudbeck and Davis Wieseler connected on passing of 10, 13 and seven yards on the opening drive. Sudbeck ran in from four yards out to cap the drive. Sudbeck hit Davis Wieseler for the PAT and Wynot led 8-0.

Hartington also moved the ball on their first offensive possession. Helped by a horse collar penalty, the Wildcats moved into Blue Devil territory, but the drive would stall.

Wynot took over on offense and struck quickly. Jackson Sudbeck and Davis Wieseler connected on a 55-yard touchdown pass. The duo also connected for the PAT and Wynot had increased their lead to 16-0.
