Cedar Catholic girls claim Wildcat title

HARTINGTON —   The Cedar Catholic girls’ track team placed first out of seven teams competing at the Hartington Invite.

As a team, the Trojans finished with 176 points, which was 60 points ahead of second-place Pender.

Cedar had five individual first place finishes on the afternoon including Alli Walter in the 100-meter dash (13.0 seconds), Katelyn Dickes in the 300-meter hurdles (50.08 seconds), Rachel Loecker in the 3,200-meter run (13:39.9), Lexi Steffen in the high jump (4’10”) and Siera Becker in the pole vault (9’0”).

The Trojans also took first place in the 4×100-meter relay, the 4×400-meter relay and the 4×800-meter relay.

Other top performers for the Cedar girls included second-place finishes by Becker in the 800-meter run (2:41.89), Amber Leise in the 100-meter hurdles (18.8 seconds), and Steffen in the triple jump (32’7”).

On the boy’s side, the Trojans finished second with 172 points, 34 points behind first-place Hartington Public.
