Westminster, Colo. — Mary Margaret “Maggie” Devereux, 80, Westminster, Colo., died June 7, 2013, in Westminster, Colo., surrounded by her family.
A memorial service was held at Olinger Crown Hill Chapel of Peace, June 12.
Graveside services will be held in the Coleridge City Cemetery at 2 p.m., Aug. 17, with Rev. Gary Kimm officiating, followed by a time of fellowship in the church basement of Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ, Coleridge.
Maggie was born Feb. 22, 1933, on a farm southwest of Coleridge, to Frank and Myrtle Graham. She graduated from Coleridge High School in 1951. Maggie and Eldon Sperry were married in June 1954, in Nebraska. They had five children Gayle “Butch,” Duane, Doug, Tami and David. Maggie and Eldon lived and worked in Kansas and Nebraska for several years, raising their family before separation and divorce. Maggie moved with her children to Canada, followed by a move to Colorado, always working and caring for her family. She married Ken Coleman while living in Colorado.
Maggied married Ray Devereux May 13, 1994, in Adams County, Colo. Maggie and Ray wintered in Arizona where they enjoyed four-wheeling, playing bingo and cards, spending time around the campfire with friends and many other fun activities. Maggie loved spending time with family and friends. Her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids were the joy of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers David, Don and George “Bill;” and two husbands, Eldon Sperry and Ken Coleman.
She is survived by her husband, Ray; four sons and spouses, Butch and Mary Sperry, Bloomfield; Duane and Laura Sperry, Pueblo, Colo; Doug and Henrietta Sperry, Commerce City, Colo.; and David Sperry, Hays, Kan.; one daughter and husband, Tami and Frank Zwolinski, Littleton, Colo.; one brother, Keith and Sharon Graham, Gothenburg; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
