UTICA, N.Y. — Lila Jean Brown, 80, formerly of Madison, died Aug. 14, 2013, at Faxton St. Luke’s, Hospital, Utica, N.Y.
Visitation was one hour prior to services at the church.
Funeral services were Aug. 20 at Community Bible Church, Norfolk.
Burial will be in Iowa Valley Cemetery, west of Madison.
Home for Funerals was in charge of arrangements.
Lila Jean was born Oct. 26, 1932, at Randolph, to Albert and Ida Mae (Burns) Graham. She attended rural school and graduated from Randolph High School. She then received her teaching certificate from Wayne State College and taught school for several years. Lila Jean married Ralph Brown Dec. 26, 1955, at the Methodist Church in Randolph. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Madison where she resided until moving to Vernon, N.Y., in October 2011.
Lila Jean is survived by two daughters, Jana Coble, Mt. Pleasant, Tenn., and Sandra Wile, Vernon, N.Y.; five grandsons, Stephen Wile, Ryan Wile, Nathan Coble, Seth Coble, Caleb Coble; and one brother, Alan Graham, Randolph.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; one son, David Brown; and one sister, Lois Howe.
