Norfolk — Joann Osburn, 80, Norfolk, died Aug. 5, 2013, at St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation and Care Center, Norfolk, with her brother and sister by her side.
Visitation was Aug. 9 at Home for Funerals, Norfolk.
Funeral services were Aug. 10 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Norfolk, with Rev. Edgar Schambach, officiating.
Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Norfolk.
Pallbearers were Scott Nelson, Steve Rasmussen, Brian Rasmussen, Kevin Rasmussen, Richard Rasmussen and Gary Lubberstedt.
Joann was born Jan. 24, 1933, in Dixon County, the daughter of Elmer and Florence (Munson) Rasmussen; she was baptized and confirmed at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Laurel; graduated from Laurel High School; and married Ernest “Dick” Osburn April 15, 1951, in Laurel. Dick and Joann made their home in Norfolk and raised their three daughters. Joann worked at the Bank of Norfolk and Home for Funerals.
Joann loved to dance, entertain, play cards, travel and spend time with friends and family.
Joann is survived by Roman Keiter, and his family of Hartington; three daughters, Debbie and husband, Paul Remmereid, Penny Gildea and Tami Osburn, all of Omaha; brother and wife, Jack and Sharon Rasmussen, and sister and husband, Connie and Loren Nelson, Elgin; two special aunts, Laverne Munson and Bonnie Brasfield; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and her dog, Lolly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dick Osburn, in 1982; one granddaughter, Tiffany Remmereid; and one great-granddaughter, Kylie Remmereid.
