HARTINGTON — The City Council gave its stamp of approval Monday to a building permit for a new Fire Hall here.
City Zoning Administrator Leroy Hansen briefly talked about the permit with City Council members at their Sept. 23 meeting before the Council voted and unanimously approved it.
The current Fire Hall, which was built in 1964, served the Fire Department well at one time. But the fireman say they have outgrown it and are in need of a new building.
This new Fire Hall will be made from pre-engineered steel and, according to the building permit. is going to be a one-story structure, measuring 80-feet by 200 feet with 22 foot-high ceilings.
