HARTINGTON — Cedar County commissioners gave Cedar County Veteran’s Officer Scott Stanton the okay to move into a bigger work space, but tabled the decision to hire a secretary for his office at their April 9 meeting.
Commissioners said he could move into the basement of the old courthouse, which would provide more space.
At the previous meeting, Stanton, with the help of his Committee members and a few others, explained his situation to the Commissioners, noting how a secretary would provide numerous benefits.
“We have really plateaued and we need to do things a little differently,” he said.
On a weekly basis, Stanton said he spends a significant amount of time on data entry and scanning documents. He believes this is not the best use of his time, considering the Commissioners are paying to send him to school three times a year.
