Cedar Co. Theatre brings together old, new friends

HARTINGTON — Nuns, wine, secrets and lost loves attempting to reunite.

All this can be seen in the upcoming Cedar County Community Theatre production of “Drinking Habits,” which will premiere April 4.

Since Jan. 7, the 13-member cast and crew have been practicing nearly every day and Lee Carl, who is co-directing the play with Shiela Olsen, said the group fits together well.

“I knew all these people before the play and when we were casting, I knew this group of people would get along and work well together,” he said.

In “Drinking Habits,” two nuns at the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing have been secretly making wine to keep the convent’s doors open, but news reporters, Paul and Sally, are hot on their trail.
