Golfers compete at Beemer

BEEMER — The Hartington boys’ golf team competed in an invitational Thursday.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge won the 15-team invitational, while Hartington finished ninth.
Preston Walford of Tekamah-Herman took medalist honors with a 75. Lucas Bradfield of Wisner-Pilger was the tourney runner-up with an 81.
Ethan Steiner paced the Wildcat golfers with a 95.
Beemer is a challenging course, Hartington Coach Ken Kneifl said.
“The kids competed really well,” Kneifl said. “Beemer can be a difficult course to score on. This was a good experience for our team.”
The Wildcat team will be in action again Thursday when they travel to Laurel’s Cedar View Golf Course. Hartington took part in a triangular Tuesday at Ponca.
