PONCA — Steven F. Bevelhymer, 55, Ponca, died unexpectedly Oct. 13, 2012, in rural Ponca.
Visitation was Friday at the school.
Memorial services were Oct. 26 at the Ponca School Gymnasium, Ponca.
Casket bearers were Don Schulte, Kevin Harder, Tony Stark, Brad Sorenson, John Stroud, Chris Kingsbury, Jeff Keller, Larry Lowe and Larry Buhl.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Mohr Funeral Home, Ponca.
Steve was born in Sioux City, Iowa, July 6, 1957, to William and Helen (Snowe) Bevelhymer. He grew up in Ponca and graduated from Ponca High School in 1976. He married Bonnie McGill April 27, 1990. He worked for the City of Ponca for the past 15 years. The couple also did custodial work for the Ponca School for several years.
He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Ponca, and was involved with the Highland Oakes Golf Course, rural Ponca.
Steve enjoyed outdoor activities, especially spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Bevelhymer, Ponca; his mother, Helen Bevelhymer, Ponca; children, Eric Bevelhymer, and his fiancé, Stacey Hanson, Ponca; Kristy and husband, Justin Wentzel, Arvada, Colo.; Christofer and wife, Leanna Bevelhymer, Wakefield; Melissa and husband, Andy Millard, Jackson; Luke McGill, and his fiancé, Rachel Pickner, Ponca; grandchildren, Faith, Dalton and Braden Wentzel, Trystan and Madison Bevelhymer; and Garrett and Mackinze Millard; brother, Jim Bevelhymer, Ponca; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, William Bevelhymer; sister, Lanell Bevelhymer Bobier; and brother-in-law, Robert Bobier.
