COLERIDGE — Elizabeth “Betty” Hotchkiss, 93, Coleridge, died Nov. 4, 2012, at The Embers Assisted Living, Coleridge.
There are no services being planned for Betty at this time. The family appreciates the great help and kindness of her caregivers at The Embers, Coleridge, and AseraCare Hospice, Norfolk.
Elizabeth was born Oct. 14, 1919, in Perris, Calif., to Edgar Ray and Edna Mae (Hatch) Hammack. Betty grew up in Riverside, Calif., and raised her family in Indio, Calif., which is in the low desert region. She married Charles “Bo” Gardner Hotchkiss in Perris, Calif. Betty worked as an office manager for a drainage tile company. When she and her husband retired, they moved to Arkansas to be near their son, Rick. Twelve years later, they moved back to California in the high desert due to her husband’s health. When her oldest son, Bill, moved to Nebraska to be near his daughter, Betty moved with him. She had been a resident of The Embers, Coleridge.
Betty is survived by her two sons, Bill Hotchkiss, Wausa, and Rick and wife, Susie Hotchkiss, North Little Rock, Ark.; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two nieces; and four nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Edna Hammack; and her husband, Charles, in 1992, at the age of 82.
