HARTINGTON — Don Fuelberth, Hartington, died Oct. 15, 2012, at the Avera Sister James Care Center, Yankton, S.D.
Visitation and a Vigil service were Oct. 17 at the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington, and continued at church Thursday one hour prior to services.
Mass of Christian Burial was Oct. 18 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Constance, with the Rev. David Fulton officiating.
Pallbearers were Aaron Fuelberth, Alec Fuelberth, Jared Fuelberth, Jim Topf, Curtis Topf, Gordon Saltz and Mark Saltz.
Honorary pallbearers were the friends and family attending the funeral.
Burial was at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Constance.
Don was the only child born to Marvin and Linda (Kumm) Fuelberth Nov. 24, 1934, in Pleasant Valley. He grew up and attended country school in Pleasant Valley. Don graduated from Hartington High School in 1953. He moved to San Diego, Calif., and worked for Convair Aircraft for several years prior to his marriage. Don married Edwyna E. “Toodie” Topf Aug. 23, 1960, in Coleridge. He farmed with his father and later with his son Troy.
Don was a member of the Rural Fire Board for many years. He liked woodworking and tinkering with two-cylinder tractors. He shared a passion of cars with his father, son and grandsons. Don loved spending time with his family, friends, and grandchildren.
Don is survived by his wife, Toodie Fuelberth, Hartington; daughter, Lori Fuelberth, Phoenix, Ariz.; son Troy and wife, Julie, Fuelberth, Hartington; four grandchildren, Aaron and wife, Heather Fuelberth, Dana, Alec and Jared Fuelberth, all of Hartington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Linda Fuelberth.
