Obituary – Deanna L. May

Wisner — Deanna L. May, 70, Wisner, formerly of Laurel, died Oct. 25, 2012, at St. Francis Hospital, West Point.

Funeral services were Oct. 29 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Laurel, with Rev. James F. McCluskey officiating.

Visitation was Oct. 28 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Laurel.

Pallbearers were Duane Nemec, Anthony Pichler, Ryan Hintz, Michael Jorgensen, Corey Jorgensen and Jason Becker.

Interment was in Laurel Cemetery, Laurel.

Hasemann Funeral Home, Laurel, was in charge of arrangements.

Deanna Louise May was born Aug. 7, 1942, at Sioux City, Iowa, to Arnold and Elsie (Noelle) May. She was raised in Laurel and graduated from Laurel-Concord High School in 1960. Deanna worked for AT&T for 30 years as a telephone operator in Norfolk and later in Omaha. In August 1990, she retired, continuing to live in Omaha until moving to Laurel and then the Wisner Care Center, Wisner, in 2007.

Deanna is survived by her siblings, Elaine Jorgensen and Mary Nemec, both of Norfolk; Gerald and wife, Nancy May, Fremont; Leon May, Laurel; and Marvin and wife, Tammy May, Dixon; and one aunt, one uncle, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

Deanna was preceded in death by her parents and two nephews.
