CONCORD — Naomi Peterson, 75, Concord, died Oct. 4, 2011, Providence Medical Center, Wayne.
Visitation was Oct. 6 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Concord.
Funeral services were Oct. 7 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Concord, with Rev. Sarah Ruch officiating.
Pallbearers were Greg Kvols, Kasey Otte, Brad Erwin, Paul Peterson, Cory Peterson and Mike Bebee.
Interment was in Concord Cemetery, Concord.
Arrangements were under the direction of Hasemann Funeral Home, Laurel.
Naomi Ruth Peterson was born Aug. 13, 1936, in Hordville, to Rev. Ernest and Mable (Hanson) Nelson. She was baptized at Hordville and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Hershey. Naomi graduated from Concord High School in 1954 and attended Luther College, Wahoo. She taught rural school for three years and piano lessons for 15 years. Naomi operated the Concord Café with Fern Erickson 23 and one-half years. Being a Preacher’s Kid she lived in Hordville; Olsburg, Kan.; Hershey; and Concord. Naomi married Iner Peterson Feb. 24, 1957, at Concordia Lutheran Church, Concord.
Naomi was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church where she served as organist and Sunday School Teacher. She belonged to Women of ELCA, Merry Homemakers Club, and Concord Cemetery Association.
She enjoyed gardening, dancing, and bowling.
Naomi is survived by her children: daughter, Kristy Otte, Wayne; son, Rick and Donna Peterson, Concord; grandchildren: Kasey Otte, Holli Peterson and Cory Peterson; brother and wife, Joel and Anita Nelson, Topeka, Kan.; sister and husband, Gloria and Bob Morris, Nacona, Texas; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Myron and Mary Peterson and Caroline Peterson, all of Laurel; and several nieces and nephews.
Naomi was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Iner; Feb. 27, 2011; brother, Paul; brother-in-law, Verneal Peterson; and one nephew.
