Wildcats claim another track title

Hartington's Ty Dybdal prepares to throw the shot put at the track meet here last week.

HARTINGTON — The Hartington Public boys track team claimed their second straight track title of the season during action here last week.
The Pender girls out-distanced the Hartington girls for team title in the girls division.

Hartington was once again led by Neil Kramer and Chad Miller.
Kramer again picked up four gold medals on the day, winning the high jump, triple jump and both hurdle events.
Miller took gold in the 100 and 200-meter dashes and in the pole vault.
Wildcat Coach Blair Kalin was pleased with his team’s effort.
“We had some great contributions from many team members —  213 points is the most we have scored in a meet that I remember,” Kalin said.
The Wildcats earned medals in the field events, the sprints, the relays and the distance races.
“Adam Hochstein is really running strong for this early in the season.  He is ahead of last year’s times at this point in the season,” Kalin said.
“Chad Miller’s time in the 200 is a good time so far.  Our 300 hurdlers were all able to lower their times and I think they will go lower,” Kalin said. “We are getting some points out of our young kids, which is encouraging to see.”
