HARTINGTON — Lois L. Anderson, 89, Hartington, died Oct. 9, 2011, at the Golden Living Center, Hartington.
Visitation was Oct. 15 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hartington, from noon until service time.
Funeral Services were Oct. 15 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hartington, with Rev. Katherine Russell officiating.
Burial was at the Obert Cemetery, Obert.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Tommy Brennan, Todd Brennan, Adam Anderson, Cody Anderson, Travis Anderson, Brian Anderson and Alan Anderson.
Honorary Pallbearers were her granddaughters, Sherry Anderson, Shelley Curtis and Breana Marlett.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington.
Lois Lucille Anderson was born March 20, 1922, Crofton, to Charles and Lillian (Balentine) Burrus. She grew up in Knox and Cedar counties. Lois married Axel Carlton “Tubby” Anderson Dec. 24, 1944, in Hartington. She and Tubby farmed east of Hartington from 1945-1985. Axel “Tubby” died April 8, 1983, at the Veteran’s Hospital, Omaha, at the age of 63 years. Lois moved into Hartington in 1985 and has been a resident of the Golden Living Assisted Living, Hartington, since January 2005.
Lois belonged to the Trinity Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aide group. She was a member of the Hartington VFW Auxiliary and loved to square dance.
Lois is survived by three children and their spouses, Sandy and John Berger, Newcastle; Andy and Roz Anderson, Salina, Kan.; Randy and Gloria Anderson, Wynot; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Edith Rohde, Randolph, and Dorothy (Art) Peterson, Sheldon, Iowa; sister-in-law, Dorothy Gobel, Yankton, S.D.; and step brother, Tom Burrus, Washington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Axel; four brothers, Jim Gobel, Willard, Robert, and Earl Burrus; and two sisters, Myra Gronlund and Betty Konken.
