Music students get time in the spotlight

The Cedar Catholic Swing Choir brought a great deal of enthusiasm to their performance at the District Music Contest. The group is made of singers and dancers in grades 9-12 and is directed by Joanne Hamilton.

HARTINGTON — Area high school students are in the spotlight this week after recent competition at the District Music Contests in Wayne and South Sioux City.

Hartington High School and Cedar Catholic High School competed at the Class C District III competition in Wayne, while Wynot competed in Class D competition in South Sioux City.
Choral groups and band ensembles from all three schools garnered high ratings at the events.
Those students are being honored this week with a special four-page pull-out section in the Cedar County News.
The section, sponsored by two dozen local businesses, features photos of the singers, and band members from all three area high schools. It can be found on pages 13-17 inside this week’s Cedar County News.
