HARTINGTON – The Lewis & Clark Conference girls basketball tournament begins Saturday, Jan. 31.

Bancroft-Rosalie is the top seed. Coleridge is seeded second.

Each of the eight first-round games will have a junior varsity game starting at 6 p.m. The varsity game will start 20 minutes after the junior varsity game.

LINCOLN— Dist. 40 Sen. Cap Dierks introduced 21 bills reflecting his interest in agriculture, quality veterinary service, public health and safety, and lower taxes.
LB407 provides civil penalties for engaging in veterinary medicine and surgery without authorization.
Dierks said that an unlicensed veterinarian writing a prescription for medicine is an example of the activities to be punished under this bill. Read The Full Story…

HARTINGTON — The Hartington Wildcats did something last week they have not accomplished in quite some time.
Hartington earned a 48-43 decision here to hang a “W” in the win column against Cedar County foe Laurel-Concord. It’s been at least 12 years since the Wildcats last tasted victory against Laurel.

Allen —  The Wynot Lady Blue Devils took 21 more shots than the Allen Lady Eagles on Tuesday and roared to a 37-8 first half lead as they dominated their host and rolled to a 60-32 win .
The victory improves the Lady Devils’ record to 11-2 on the year.

WEST POINT  — The Cedar Catholic Lady Trojans earned an easy win and won a battle to the wire  during road action last week.
Despite an icy 4-17 freethrow shooting effort, Cedar earned a 59-55 win over West Point Central Catholic here Saturday.
