Coleridge is headed to

CROFTON — Coleridge girls’ basketball fans had to sweat it out until the final seconds Friday before they knew if their team would advance to the Class D2 State Tournament this week in Lincoln.
The Lady Blue needed overtime to vanqish the upstart Lynch When the dust finally settled on the District D2-3 title game, Coleridge owned a 44-39 overtime win.
Coleridge battled more than just Lynch this week. The school has been battling a case of Influenza A all week long as 30 percent of the student body missed at least one day of school last week with the bug.
“We were down and out this week with an outbreak of Influenza A, but when it came down to it, the girls who have done it all year came through tonight.”
This marks the second straight dramatic victory of the post-season for the champsion of the Lewis and Clark West Division. The Lady Blue needed a big play from Taylor Olsen — a jumper with 7.7 seconds left in the game — to earn last week’s SubDistrict title game win over Wausa. Olsen again played a key role in Friday’s title game.  She finished the night with a team-high 17 points.
