Cedar Catholic Senior Kyle Dump garnered the team’s only medal in his first action since early January.
Dump was one of just three Cedar wrestlers to garner wins on the day.
Mathew Arens and Nathan Leise both picked up lone wins on the day.

Arens earned a 7-0 decision in first-round action, while Leise picked up a thrilling 11-10 come-back win in wrestle-back action. Neither was able to advance to the medal round, however.
Despite being out for three weeks with a pulled hamstring, Dump garnered the second seed in the tourney. He earned a quick second period pin over a Boone Central wrestler in opening round action. He then lost to eventual champion Garrett Rockey in quarterfinal action.

Dump out-pointed a Wayne wrestler 16-1 to earn the technical fall and advance to the championship round. Unfortunately, Dump reinjured his hamstring in the win and had to forfeit his match for third place.
That injury was one of many for Cedar on the day.
Arens injured his shoulder in his final match of the afternoon. Mark Wortmann and Nathan Leise limped away from the tournament with strained knees.
Injuries have been the name of the game for thsi year’s Cedar team. Three other Cedar wrestlers, Chad Koch, Joel Uhing and Jordan Anderson, were unable to compete because of injuries suffered earlier this year,
Norfolk Catholic and Madison dueled for the Conference title with Madison earning the top spot with 196 team points.

Other teams competing at that meet are: Battle Creek, Creighton, Crofton, Plainview, Wakefield, Oakland-Craig, Norfolk Catholic, Madison, Logan View, Laurel-Concord, Tekamah-Herman, North Bend, Wisner-Pilger and West Point-Beemer.
