Karn Wynia, age 52 of Hartington, NE, died on Thursday, February 14, 2008 at her residence from cancer.
Memorial Services will be on Monday, February 18, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Hartington with the Rev. Gary Kimm officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington.
Karn was born on September 24, 1955 at Mitchell, SD to Rex Allen and Wanda J. (Nelson) Sly. Karn grew up in Platte, SD and graduated from Platte High School in 1973. She then attended and graduated from Nettleton College in Sioux Falls. She married Micheal Wynia on August 1, 1975 at Mitchell and they lived in Platte until moving to Hartington in 1982. Karn worked at the Pizza Hut and Casey’s General Store in Hartington. She attended the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Hartington. She was an avid collector of any Norman Rockwell items. She loved to make candy and share it with her family and friends.
Karn is survived by her husband, Micheal Wynia of Hartington, 2 sons and their wives, Jeremy and Katie Wynia of Norfolk, NE, Eric and Sarah Wynia and their daughter Addison of Yankton, her mother, Wanda Plummer of Stuart, Florida, 2 sisters and their husbands, Dawn and Gary Johnson of Platte, SD, Rexanne and Dave Thuringer of Mitchell, SD, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, and her grandparents.
