CONCORD — Irene Hanson, 84, Concord, died Feb. 3, 2008 at the Providence Medical Center, Wayne.
Visitation and a prayer service were Feb. 5 at the Hasemann-Schumacher Funeral Home, Laurel.
Funeral Services were Feb. 6 at the United Methodist Church, Allen, with Rev. Sara Simmons and Rev. Karen Tjarks officiating.
Pallbearers were Hart Vollers, Scott Huetig, Kurt Rewinkel, Warren Hanson, Verlin Hanson and Rick Peterson
Interment was in the Concord Cemetery.
Ida Irene Hanson was born Oct. 11, 1923, at Elmo, Mo., to Roy Mack and Fern Adela (Riley) Livengood. She attended school at Castana, Iowa, Public Schools. Irene married Richard J. Hanson Dec. 13, 1951, at Sioux City, Iowa. The couple lived in the Concord community all of their married lives.
Irene was a member of the Allen United Methodist Church and several community organizations. Over the years, she closely followed the school activities of her son, Craig, and spent many hours driving and attending livestock sales with her father-in-law, Paul Hanson, who was a cattle buyer.
Irene is survived by her husband, Dick; one daughter, Sherry (John) Dorman, Concord; one son, Craig (June Erickson) Hanson, Hebron, N.D.; one brother, Earl Livengood, Iowa; three sisters, Iva Lou Moore, Iowa; Leora Claus, California; and Lucille Nelson, Concord; one brother-in-law Wesley Helder, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Alice Calendar and Phyllis Helder; one daughter, Anita; one son, Mark; one nephew, Scott Nelson; one neice, Kathy Moore; and in-laws, Kay Livengood, Earl Moore, Earl Nelson and Richard Claus.
