Obituary – Doris P. Tramp

FORDYCE — Doris P. Tramp, 80, formerly of Fordyce, died Feb. 2, 2008, at Avera Sister James Care Center, Yankton, S.D.
Visitation, with a rosary and prayer service, was Feb. 4 at the Wintz and Ray Funeral Home, Yankton.
Mass of Christian Burial was Feb. 5, at Wintz and Ray Funeral Home, Yankton, with Rev. Ken Bain officiating.
Burial was in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Fordyce.
Pallbearers were Doris’ grandsons, Scott Weinandt, Chris Weinandt, Ben Donner, Adam Donner, Tony Donner, Jess Tramp and Nick Bergman.
Honorary pallbearers were her grandchildren, Shannon and Scott Burgett, Jessica Bergman, Becky Tramp, Rachel Tramp, Mariah Failing, Nick Wieseler, Chrissy Wieseler, Jen Wieseler, Tanis Weinandt, Jayme Weinandt and Wendy Donner.
Doris was born April 21, 1927, to Romeo and Aurore Berubé in Biddeford, Maine. At the age of 17, she met Harold Tramp while he was stationed in Maine during World War II. They were married Feb. 6, 1945, and moved from her home in Biddeford to Fordyce, where she lived the rest of her life.
She worked at Dale’s, Mtron, and also for the West Catholic School, Fordyce, in the lunch program.
She was a member of the Ladies Guild and Christian Mothers until her retirement.
She loved bowling, crocheting, doing crossword puzzles, and in her later years she especially enjoyed shopping trips with her daughters.
She is survived by her four children and spouses, Dottie and Gerard Weinandt, Yankton, S.D.; Kathie and Bob Wieseler, Yankton, S.D.; Kim Tramp, Yankton, S.D.; and Jody Bergman, Enid, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Jalbert, Biddeford, Maine.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Joe Arquin; husband, Harold; and brother, Roger Berubé.
