COON RAPIDS, Iowa — Jessie Janet (Hight) Heck, 94, Coon Rapids, Iowa, died Jan. 27, at Thomas Rest Haven, Coon Rapids.
Services were Feb. 2 at Ascension Lutheran Church, Coon Rapids, with Rev. Stephanie Simmons officiating.
Interment was at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Lidderdale, Iowa.
Pallbearers were Jesse Milligan, Leroy Hight, Dan Hight, Byron Anderson, Adrian Rathgeber, Kevin Heck and Lyle Hight.
Born Aug. 8, 1913, at Norfolk, Jessie was the daughter of Leo and Lula (Russell) Hight. She grew up near Coleridge, attending country schools. She married Harold Heck Sept. 19, 1936, at Coleridge. After marriage, the couple moved to Colorado where they lived for seven years and then moved to Iowa. They farmed until retirement.
She enjoyed spending time with her family. Her biggest hobby was crocheting and, in her younger years, gardening and raising chickens.
She was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church, Coon Rapids.
She is survived by a daughter, Donna Hein, and husband, Junior, Glidden, Iowa; a son, Russell Heck, and his wife, Kay, Coon Rapids, Iowa; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; four brothers, Russell High and his wife, Rowena, Gering; Myrl Hight and his wife, Sylvia, Schleswig, Iowa; Neil Hight and his wife, Betty, Scranton, Iowa; and Elton Hight and his wife, Miriam, Lake City, Iowa; three sisters, Vera Anderson, Nixa, Mo.; Evolyn Rathgeber, Coleridge; and Darie Heck, Littleton, Colo.; and a brother-in-law, Merlin Heck, and his wife, Darlene, Scranton, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her parents, Leo and Lula Hight; her parents-in-law, Henry and Ida Heck; a brother, Roy Hight; two sisters, Edna Milligan and Leola Erickson; sisters-in-law, Hilda Crane, and her husband, Don; Lucille Seyl and her husband, Vic; and Betty Heck; a brother-in-law, Clarence Heck; and many nieces and nephews.
