LCC students earn District music honors

SOUTH SIOUX CITY — On Friday, April 19, Laurel-Concord- Coleridge music students participated in the District Music Contest at South Sioux City Middle School.

These are the instrumental music results: The LCC Concert Band and LCC Jazz Band both received Excellent Ratings from all three judges.

The Percussion Ensemble also received an Excellent Rating.

Sam Cross, on alto saxophone, and Christian Staples, on trumpet, received Excellent Ratings on their solos.

Gabbie Kock, on trumpet, and Derek Nelson, on snare drum, received Superior Ratings on their solos.

Derek Nelson also received the Nebraska School Activities Association Outstanding Performance Award for his snare drum solo, “The Second Thirteen.”
